The relationship between friends love and sex

My buddy John Gilmore gave me said this during a chat session. ( He believes that he read this else where ):

Men often mistake friendship for love, but never mistake sex for love.

Women often mistake sex for love, but never mistake friendship for love.

I don't know, I think I am just mistaken.

How many women are out there for me in the USA?

Following up on the how many women are out there in Mesa County for me . . .

So I ran these numbers to determine how many women are mutual matches in the United States of America, and I came up with: 26,840

And what about the world? 580,705

There are over half a million women out there for me. WOW!

Of course, as someone who has actually swam in the international gene pool, I know that there are oil slicks out there.

Lunch with Christella

Yesterday, Christella Lans took me out to lunch. Her new job at Chamberlin is going great.

We ate at the new Nepalese. I told her a story, and she did not even choke on her food.

How many women are out there for me?

According to Match.com I would find less than 5% of all woman a suitable match, and less than 2% of women would find me a match. They don't say what percentage of women would be mutual matches for me (i.e. we match each other). But that would have to be in the range of 2% to 0.1%. (Where .05 * .02 = .001).

Lets be optimistic and say that the actual number of mutual matches is 2%. I live in a rural metropolitan area of just under 120,000.

Lets say that half of the people are women. 120,000 * .5 = 60,000

Match.com assumes that it is dealing with people at least 18 years old. In Mesa county, over 25% of the population is under 18. 60,000 * .75 = 45,000

Match.com assumes that it is dealing with people who are not in relationships and who are looking for a relationship. The percentage of married women in Mesa County is over 50%. This still does not include non-married women who are in committed relationships, nor does it include women who are not looking for a relationship. I am going to assume that only 25% of women are currently looking for a relationship 45,000 * .25 = 11,250

Now using the optimistic 2% mutual match percentage, the women would make mutual matches. 11,250 * .02 = 225

What about the pessimistic 0.1% mutual match percentage? 11,250 * 0.001 = 11

You say that I should take these numbers with a grain of salt? Sure I know that, but I do think that my friends who know me will agree that the percentage of women who would be a match for me is fairly small.

You say that I should move to a big city so that I have a bigger pool? Been there done that. Still didn't meet anyone, and I hated living in the city. Besides, my single friends who live in the city all report only disaster and devastation.

Hippy Chicks?

Take this and other free quizlets on Match.com!

Strange, the girl in the image doesn't seem to have much in the way of hips.

Playmates through the Decades

Being the 50th Anniversary of Playboy, an interesting rendering of the Playmates by decade. Yes, this is safe to view. The artist Jason Salavon created the images by averaging every Playmate photo of the decade together. The resulting images are blurred to the point of being almost beyond recognition as human form. However, you can still learn some interesting trends from the images.

Be sure to check out other work by the artist. I particularly like The Top Grossing Film of All Time, 1 x 1
